EASTER 2005 More Memories

We all tried to think of ways to say how we felt. Ryan said it well for all of us.

    Ryan´s Poem

When I was young I didn't know how many miles kept us apart
Because when I saw my Grandma I could feel right away

That nowhere could I wander from the palace of her heart
Nowhere could I feel as though I have lost my way.

When she'd call I knew when it was her before she even said a word
Cause she'd pause to figure out for sure if it was my or dad's hello she heard
I liked it when my folks were out because then it was up to me
To ask her how she's doing and tell her how things have been.

Even when she spoke with ink there was no sweeter voice than hers.
She always had such graceful writing, she always wrote the kindest words
Separated by east and west but never far away
Never further than the cards that preceded every birthday.

And she always remembered so I know I won't forget
The way she loved her family and the way she never let
Her guiding light be dimmed. Yes, she always led the way
Her light remains yet still somehow I feel so lost today

But her light does still remain
Though nothing can truly be the same
The song in her heart will ever sustain
And fill our lives with love.

And still I know I can never stray
So far that she seems far away
Cause her light remains to show the way
To her palace up above.
